SPECIALTIES: LITERATURE & SCIENCE
I am a graduate of the University of Michigan. I married my best friend, Ross, in December of 2016. We bought a house in Downriver, MI, and started a family shortly after. Together, we have identical twin girls, Evelynn and Savannah, who will be three in the spring, and our first child, a black lab named Cal, who recently turned five.
The best part of my class is the students. I enjoy the discussion and conversations that we have together. Usually they turn into Science based What-ifs, but it is always a good time.
In my classroom, I like to try to take students to the Zoo (when we can ) as we study animal development and behavior. In the Spring every other year, students of the 7th and 8th grade read an abridged version of “Night” by Elie Wiesel, and we visit the Holocaust Memorial Museum. I like to be hands-on with Science; we separate the DNA from pea plants, use skittles when diagramming molecules, and create life-sized renderings of the different anatomical systems of the body.
